Central Ohio: Deaths in Tornado Warnings & Storms

In Columbus, Ohio, a tragic toll has been reported following a series of storms and potential tornadoes on Thursday night, devastating Logan County and other central Ohio areas.

Tornado warnings were initially issued around 8:30 p.m. and persisted until 10:15 p.m., coinciding with severe storms characterized by strong winds and suspected tornado activity. According to the Logan County coroner, three individuals lost their lives in Logan County as a result of these events. Cleanup operations are set to commence earnestly on Friday.

Expressing profound sorrow, Joe Antrim, Logan County Commissioner, remarked, “We’re deeply saddened by the destruction that has struck the Indian Lake community in the past few hours. Local authorities stand ready to extend every possible assistance in the recovery efforts.”

The aftermath of intense storms and potential tornadoes wreaked havoc across Logan and Delaware counties, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Antrim expressed concerns regarding the extensive cleanup efforts ahead, emphasizing that the process could extend over a significant period.

“It’s alarming to anticipate the prolonged recovery period we’re facing here. While the immediate response has been incredibly supportive, it’s crucial to remember the ongoing needs of the Indian Lake community in the weeks to come.”
